VFC Fire Cord

Material

The VFC fire cord is made of mineral fibres covered with a glass fibre yarn. This material is compressible, incombustible and free of binders; it has a circular section and is resistant to humidity, fungi and microorganisms. It is not sensitive to water and humidity and also resists many aggressive chemical agents except hydrochloric acid and concentrated alkalis. VFC is free of asbestos and ceramics. The VFC cord for initial joint widths from 10 to 120 mm, was tested without any sealing in the surface part and with a lateral movement during the test of + 20%.

The VFC cord is installed using the appropriate fireproof glue and the connection strip between one roll and another and by inserting it under pressure inside the structural opening, whether in the floor or in the wall.
