Flex 20 waterproof system

Flex 20 waterproof system

The Flex joint can be installed efficiently and reliably. The two lateral adhesive flanges are reinforced and are either flame treated in the bitumen sealing in a sandwich process or glued directly to the substrate (e.g. concrete or steel) using epoxy resin adhesive to form a forced fit connection. The central part of the Flex joint is formed by the fully elastic expansion zone, which absorbs the movement of the building elements in 3 directions. Depending on the type of structural joint, Flex joint systems are available for movements of up to 240 mm. Flex structural expansion joints are usually factory-packed with all special parts made for the particular building. Where installation has to be carried out in several stages, or for very long structural joints which make handling more difficult, the items can also be prepared on site, using the specially designed vulcanising machine. Please contact our technical service directly for available options.

VAdvantages of using the Flex joint

Economical installation thanks to the prefabrication of expansion elements perfectly adapted to the needs of the construction site.
The sandwich assembly system with elastomeric bituminous membrane or epoxy resin means that no substructure is required to prepare for installation.
No joints need to be made on site thanks to prefabrication.
Excellent resistance to building oscillation movements (e.g. during seismic events).
It easily follows the line of each joint being a thin and flat profile.
Flex joint expansion zone is extremely elastic in 3 directions.
It can be fixed with bituminous sheathing and/or epoxy adhesive on concrete and metal, etc. The individual strips can be joined on site using the specially developed vulcanizing machine.
The Flex joint can remain in contact with the flame and/or molten asphalt for short periods during the installation phase, without the properties of the material being affected.
